This IS my fav deli on the west side. I like the spacious dining room. We went at a very busy time recently and were seated right away by the Beautiful hostess. She has a pretty amazing spirit.
And MONICA!! You can't duplicate her! She's almost hoarse from speaking to everyone in this bustling place. Such a terrific server. Attentive and caring. Worked well with the gentleman clearing.
A bit of a hang-up, though,( on MY part when paying, the hostess. (What is her Name?! Sorry!) made me feel very comfortable at my error. A gift card I'd been given had slipped out of the envelope at home. I only had the receipt. Anyway, long story, have found the gift card, and will be going back! Do I ever LOVE the bagel and salmon...coleslaw!! And what a huge menu IF I'd want anything else.

Food was decent. Came here after my doctor appt at UCLA Health. Ordered the corned beef with poached eggs and side of sweet potato fries and ice tea. $30 dollar lunch. Not worth it as the food was just okay. The best part was the sweet potato fries. Will skip this place and go to another place for lunch on my next appt. Trust.

I am a sucker for old school diners with booths and 20 page menus! This place is all that and more. I've eaten here a dozen times and the service, food and ambiance never disappoint. It is a bit pricey but it's in Santa Monica so not a shock. Great place for breakfast. Coffee is strong. Lol

I have driven by many times but never stopped in. Easy parking friendly staff, terrible food. I had a pastrami sandwich, what coild be bad at a deli

Been driving by this place for over a decade and never really made a point to stop by... until today.
Upon walking in, we were greeted by some really strong BO or musky smell which initially turned us off. Upon seating, the table was dirty with spills on the seat. The bus boy swooped in real quick with his dirty towel and wiped everything down. Not getting a good feeling about this visit...
We ordered and things started to turn around:
Brisket sandwich with potato pancake buns (4): The brisket was sliced super thin. It was moist and tender and they gave a good amount. The potato pancakes were crispy and tasty. Can't really mess up applesauce which complimented the pancakes well. The coleslaw was also good and wasn't drowning in sauce.
Daughter got the kids silver dollar pancakes. She finished it all. She liked that it came with chocolate milk so she was happy.
We walked away satisfied and pleasantly surprised despite our initial bad feelings. If we get the opportunity, we'll come back to sample more of their menu since they have a great selection of comfort foods. If atmosphere doesn't bother you, then their fare is decent.
